چکیده

In recent years, several researchers have studied the potential use of ammonia (NH3) as an energy vector, focused on techno-economic advantages and challenges for full global deployment. The fuel is seen a strategy to support decarbonization; however, confirm sustainability shift in thermal engines, study environmental profile needed. This paper aims assess life cycle impacts ammonia-based electricity generated combined heat power different production pathways. A cradle-to-gate assessment was developed both generation. results show that electrolysis-based from renewable nuclear better terms warming (0.09–0.70 t CO2-eq/t NH3), fossil depletion (3.62–213.56 kg oil-eq/t ozone (0.001–0.082 g CFC-11-eq/t NH3). addition, surplus district or industrial applications offsets some burden, such more than 29% reduction carbon footprint. general, presents favorable profile, example, footprint ranges ?0.480 0.003 CO2-eq/kWh.

Integrated life-cycle assessment of electricity-supply scenarios confirms global environmental benefit of low-carbon technologies.

Decarbonization of electricity generation can support climate-change mitigation and presents an opportunity to address pollution resulting from fossil-fuel combustion. Generally, renewable technologies require higher initial investments in infrastructure than fossil-based power systems. To assess the tradeoffs of increased up-front emissions and reduced operational emissions, we present, to our...

Challenges of Electricity Production Scenarios Modelling for Life Cycle Assessment of Environmental Impacts

This communication presents a first attempt at making a life cycle assessment of prospective electricity production scenarios which were designed in the EnerGEO project. We start by a basic review of system (in this case, scenario) modelling expectations in today’s LCA study. We then review some of the challenges of implementation due to the lack of detailed description of present and future el...

Environmental Assessment of Life Cycle of Waste Management System Based on LCAIWM1 Modeling (Case Study: Rasht City)

Background: Population growth and increased human activities in urban communities lead to large volumes of waste. This waste volume causes problems for human health and environmental pollution. Recently, a living environment assessment has been developed to improve the situation. The purpose of this study is to compare the environmental impacts of four urban waste disposal scenarios in Rasht ci...
